As we enter a new decade, a confluence of AM technology innovations, trends in electrification and autonomous driving, government policy and consumer expectations, the automotive industry is set to see a degree of transformation not seen since ford unveiled the moving assembly line. A core technology at the heart of this transformation will be 3D printing, having seen long standing adoption for over two decades in the form of rapid prototyping, but set to become a key enabling production technology for future vehicle manufacturing. In this presentation, we look at the strategic opportunities for polymer 3D printing within the automotive industry as a tool for innovation production as the industry pivots to a new paradigm in electrified, autonomous and shared vehicle ownership."
