In response to the market demand for a standard approach to qualify operators,
ASTM International has developed a certification program that applies to
personnel operating metal laser powder bed machines. Upon successful
completion of this program, operators of PBF-LB machines will be certified in
compliance with the requirements for competent operation using standard
operating practices in ISO/ASTM 52942:2020 standard.
